Jo Weldon stripped her way through college. She is now the Headmistress and Improprietess of the New York School of Burlesque, as well as a member of the team at Coney Island USA and at the Burlesque Hall of Fame. She was a featured performer in Margaret Cho's variety show The Sensuous Woman, and served as coach and consultant on the Victor/Victrola episode of Gossip Girl. She has toured with the Sex Workers' Art Show. She has been photographing live burlesque, publishing articles and interviews, and creating internet resources for burlesque fans for nearly a decade. She was voted Best Teacher in Arts and Entertainment by the Village Voice, and Best Teacher and Mentor at the New York Burlesque Festival. She is very honored by the teachers she works with and the students of NYSB. She can't believe how lucky she is.
